Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how ConvertFin, operated by Jincove LLC, uses cookies and similar technologies. We keep this to a minimum: converting your statements does not require cookies at all, because that work happens locally in your browser.

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads — for example, that you are signed in. Similar technologies such as local storage can serve comparable purposes.

We use only the following, limited categories:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function — for example, to keep you signed in, maintain your session, and protect against security threats. These cannot be switched off through the site.
• Preferences. Remember basic choices such as your light or dark theme so the site behaves the way you expect.
• Analytics. We use two services to understand how the tool is used and which pages people actually keep coming back to. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies — _ga and _ga_PHDQ6HV661 — which hold a randomly generated visitor number so that a repeat visit is not counted as a new person; both expire two years after your most recent visit, and loading it tells Google your IP address, browser, and the page you came from. PostHog, a product-analytics service run by PostHog, Inc. in the United States, sets a first-party cookie named ph_…_posthogholding a similar random id, records which pages and features you interact with, and receives the same connection details; it does not record your screen. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, none of this happens until you choose “Allow analytics” in the banner — decline and neither script is requested and no analytics cookie is set. Elsewhere, analytics are on by default and no banner is shown. Either way you can turn them off at any time under Managing cookies below, which deletes the cookies straight away.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you across other websites. The analytics cookies are first-party — set by ConvertFin and readable only here — but Google and PostHog process the measurement data on our behalf and handle it under their own policies. Your bank statements are never involved, because they are never uploaded.

If you allow analytics, the Google Analytics script is loaded from googletagmanager.com and the PostHog script from us-assets.i.posthog.com; they set the cookies described above and send usage data to google-analytics.com and us.i.posthog.com respectively. Until then, no request is made to either provider.

When you start a paid subscription, checkout is handled on Stripe’s own secure pages, and Stripe may set its own cookies to process the transaction securely. Those cookies are governed by Stripe’s own policies.

You can turn analytics on or off here at any time, and withdrawing is no harder than giving permission was. Switching it off deletes the _ga and ph_…_posthogcookies from this browser and stops Google Analytics and PostHog immediately — in this tab and in any others you have open — without a reload.

Your answer is kept in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, so it survives without tracking you. Clearing site data for ConvertFin resets it and we will ask again.

Most browsers also let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking the essential and preference cookies may sign you out or reset your preferences, but it will not stop you from converting a statement.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
